Reading and discussion with Christopher Kloeble "Through the rough to the stars", moderated by Gitta Lindemann, journalist
Arkadia Fink is a heroine you won't forget: 13 years old, musically gifted and blessed with an abundance of imagination. This makes her an outsider in her Bavarian village. The only person who understands Arkadia is her mother: a flamboyant, unsuccessful composer who is convinced that Beethoven was a woman. But now Arkadia's mother has disappeared. Arkadia fights this painful certainty with exuberant energy and imagination. And she has an idea: if the world-famous boys' choir accepts her and she sings on the big stage, her mother will return. The hurdles may seem insurmountable - no girl has ever sung in the choir before. But Arkadia has no intention of giving up.
