A crime comedy based on the novel by Karsten Dusse / Stage adaptation by Bernd Schmidt
Björn Diemel is a successful lawyer—overworked and never really at home. To change that, his wife sends him to a mindfulness seminar. And indeed, Björn begins to get his life back on track. He learns to set clear boundaries, focus on what really matters, and finally spend time with his daughter again. The only problem is: part of his daily routine also involves defending a mafia boss. And when the boss’s demands clash with Björn’s new need for inner balance, Björn comes up with a surprisingly logical solution.
What follows is a crime comedy at its finest, in which coaching mantras collide with organized crime, and work-life balance suddenly takes on a very concrete meaning. The more mindfully Björn lives, the more determinedly he clears away everything that bothers him.
The stage adaptation of Karsten Dusse’s bestseller combines dark humor with a fast pace and explores just how close serenity and violence actually are. With its mix of crime thriller, comedy, and mindfulness parody, the novel became a hit with audiences and was also adapted into a Netflix series in 2024.
