Minguet Quartet
The Minguet Quartet - founded in 1988 - is today one of the most sought-after string quartets internationally and performs in all the world's major concert halls, "because the joy of sound and expression with which the ensemble brings the works to life enlivens even the smallest detail" (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung). Its namesake is Pablo Minguet, an 18th century Spanish philosopher who endeavored in his writings to give the general public access to the fine arts:
The Minguet Quartet feels more committed than ever to this idea. The Minguet Quartet made its seventh guest appearance at the Salzburg Festival in 2024, having already made its debut there in 2004. Highlights of recent seasons include: Vienna Konzerthaus, Festspielhaus Baden Baden, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Flagey Brussels as well as Lisbon, concerts at Prinzregententheater Munich, Gewandhaus zu Leipzig, Meistersingerhalle Nuremberg, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Cologne and Berlin Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Library of Congress and International Gallery Washington DC, Théâtre des Abbesses Paris, Lincoln Center New York, SouthBank Centre London, The University of Hong Kong, Beethovenfest Bonn, Tongyeong International Music Festival Korea as well as other festivals and major concert halls in Europe, Japan, Central and South America, Canada and the USA and, last but not least, Villa Papendorf in October 2023.
