The Divitz moated castle, which has been designated a cultural asset of national importance, was long regarded as a Sleeping Beauty castle. As early as the 14th century, it was one of the most important fortifications in the border region between Pomerania and Mecklenburg and is surrounded by a landscaped park covering around 12 hectares.
