In 1836, the Greifswald merchant Moritz Voss acquired the two estates of Bauer and Wehrland, which were separated by a stream. In 1838/39, the new owner had the Bauer manor house, which still exists today, built away from the farmyard according to the ideal of a classicist country house as defined by David Gilly, and had a landscaped park laid out. The master builder is thought to have been Carl August Menzel from Greifswald, who had previously worked for Schinkel. The two-storey plastered building with a flat sloping roof is structured by strong cornices between the storeys. The central front is emphasized by a three-axis central risalit with a triangular gable. The approach to the building is organized by an avenue of lime trees and a traffic circle. In 1867, Voss sold the Bauer-Wehrland double estate to the von Quistorp family, who already managed the estate in the neighboring village of Krenzow. The Bauer estate remained in their possession until it was expropriated in 1945, when the building became the property of the municipality and was converted into a community center with various uses. In 1998, Prof. Dr. Hans-Gert Roloff and the architect Klaus Berge and his family acquired the Bauer manor house and the associated park. In a gradual, careful restoration, the listed building was restored to its basic neoclassical structure. The house now houses the family's private living quarters. Guests can take a break from everyday life in the nearby coach house. A visit to the small village church of St. Nikolai zu Bauer, within sight of the manor house, is also recommended. Behind the church, there is a magnificent view of the Achterwasser and the Island of Usedom.
