If you look at old estates in various places in the Mecklenburg Lake District, you will notice that almost all of them have the same structure. Stables, barns and granaries, the manager's or inspector's house and, of course, the manor house near the church are grouped around a central area, the manor courtyard. The Geveziner estate was also built in this way. Many of these buildings are still preserved and in use today. The current manor house was designed in 1912 by a Berlin architect for the lord of the manor, Dr. Adolf Baron von Buengner, for whom he had already designed a manor house in nearby Puchow. The original manor house was presumably demolished or burnt down. An eventful history followed. After 1945, it was initially used as refugee accommodation. During the GDR era, it was used as living space, and there was also a supermarket, a cinema, a classroom and a youth meeting place under the roof. In 1997, Berlin pensioner Karl-Heinrich Gehricke acquired the manor house and it became known as the "Indian Museum". In 2013, the current owner took over the manor house and is maintaining and renovating the existing building. Here she accommodates guests who love the charm of the manor house as much as she does.
