The Bassendorf manor house is a typical manor house, as was common in Vorpommern in the 18th century. The estate complex with the manor house in the middle is largely preserved. Bassendorf was transferred to the Swede Hans Wachtmeister af Björkö by Queen Christina during the Thirty Years' War. His descendants, the Counts of Wachtmeister, built the baroque manor house in the 18th century, which remained in their possession until 1945. The manor house was then used for residential purposes, for local consumption, as a banquet hall and later for a Jewish aid project. The current owners are gradually restoring the house and park to the charm of a stately home and creating
