A play for children ages 5 and up on the topic of environmental protection
The ancient jellyfish wants to celebrate her 500-millionth birthday on the Baltic Sea beach! But the beach is full of trash. She can’t possibly welcome her guests like this!
When Finn the seal shows up, she already has an ally. But then Mia comes along and carelessly tosses the wrapper from her fish sandwich onto the beach. How is Finn supposed to waddle along the beach amid wrappers, plastic bottles, and potato chip bags?
Where does all this trash come from anyway, and how do you dispose of it properly so it doesn’t end up somewhere else?
Other questions also arise: Do jellyfish actually have feelings, and can a seal and a human be friends?
The complex topics of environmental pollution, waste separation, and waste reduction are explored here in a playful and accessible way for children. Along the way, they’ll learn a lot about how all living things are connected through the ocean and can live together in mutual respect.
