Relatives of formerly prominent Jewish families from Teterow attend the memorial stone laying ceremony
Jewish families lived in Teterow for generations. They were an integral part of our town—as neighbors, merchants, and artisans. They shaped the town’s economic, cultural, and social life and were committed to the common good. Nazis from Teterow harassed them, stripped them of their rights, and deported them to camps. Most of them perished there. Fifteen memorial stones serve as a lasting reminder of their lives and fates.
Never again. Together for remembrance, respect, and humanity.
The gathering for the memorial stone laying ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at Teterow’s market square. Mayor Robert Straßburg will welcome the participants. From there, the memorial stones will be laid at five locations in the old town. The event will conclude around noon at the Teterow train station.
