FiSH Film Festival Rostock with the awarding of the MV Media Competence Prize / free admission

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, the FiSH Film Festival Rostock will make its first big wave at the Volkstheater Rostock. The opening day combines exchange, awards, a festive opening and a party - and shows how diverse young media and film culture is in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern,

starting with the MeKo Forum, which offers space for talks, impulses and discussions on media literacy, digital participation and current media education issues. Afterwards, the MV Media Literacy Award will be presented to outstanding projects that are creative and committed to teaching media literacy in the state.

In the evening, the music takes over the stage: PopFiSH, the music video award of the FiSH Film Festival, brings powerful images, new sounds and creative styles to the Great Hall of the Volkstheater. Film and music makers from the region celebrate their work together here - loudly, visually and on a big stage.

After the official program, the festival day flows seamlessly into the after-show party in the TheaterBar. An evening that whets the appetite for more festival - at the Volkstheater and beyond.
