Meeting and exchange of local history collectors and researchers
The Mecklenburg Foundation and the Kulturquartier Mecklenburg-Strelitz are jointly inviting people to a local historians' meeting. From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be talks, a visit to a memorial site and plenty of space for personal discussions in the Kulturquartier about Strelitz history.
The event will kick off with a piece of art history from Burg Stargard. Frank Saß, chairman of the Marie Hager Kunstverein, will introduce the impressionist Marie Hager. She was one of the first women in Mecklenburg to make a living from her art.
Maxi Grubert, Head of Collections/Regional Affairs at Neubrandenburg Regional Library, talks about the tricks of the trade when it comes to finding literature and sources for a local chronicle.
The visit to the memorial site leads to the former prison of the GDR Ministry of State Security in Neustrelitz's Töpferstraße.
Participation fee including guided tour: EUR 3.00
