Concert
Max Prosa is a storyteller. If you listen to him alone on the guitar or piano, you can experience this in its purest form. He plays new and old songs, such as "Flügel", which was written back in 2012 but only reached a wide audience in 2020 thanks to Egon Werler's interpretation on the casting show "The Voice". In addition, the new "Verschwende Dich", which was interpreted by Hannah Herzsprung as the title song of the movie "15 Jahre" and thus became more widely known. Behind these successes that have risen to the surface, Max Prosa has been sitting and working undeterred on his texts and songs for years, playing concerts and reading his poems, which he has collected in the new poetry collection "Als wir ein Sternbild waren" (When we were a constellation), the first edition of which sold out in no time at all. The readers and listeners become a community, a bell forms around them that expands space and time. Max tells of mothers and sons, kings and thieves and, of course, the great themes of chanson: transience, passion and love. Always in his own way and in such a way that it touches everyone's heart.
Meret Becker has been working as a film actress and chansonette since she was 17. Over the years, she has also developed into an entertainer, musician, composer, music producer and artistic director of her concert programs. She describes herself as a performing artist, sound researcher and reprise clown. She is self-taught, has received numerous awards, lives in Berlin and France and is a single mother of an adult daughter. Meret Becker has been composing and writing her own music and songs since around 1995. She usually keeps her compositions simple, often loop-like, and then layers them sonically. She often uses subtle, quiet sounds such as music boxes, glockenspiel, flagolet tones, glass harp or cheleste. In addition to mechanical instruments, she does not shy away from electronic processing. She loves the pauses and the fragility of music. Nevertheless, her compositions can certainly build up into extensive, imposing pieces. She describes her music as "optical music", among other things, because she creates musical images, similar to film music, or music en miniature, which alludes to the minimalism she cultivates. Accompanying herself to a large extent will be a great challenge and fun, as she is not a virtuoso on any instrument apart from the singing saw. She uses the instruments she plays rather purposefully and deliberately as timbre. Now alone or in a duet with Max Prosa.
