Kunsthaus Lübz - Center for Circular Art presents:
and
Melika Vikalo
born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the trained visual artist currently lives and works in Lübz, Germany. Her work is influenced by symbolism and expressionism, in which she explores inner states, identity and belonging through layers of color and fragments of form. In her cycles, she views paintings as living fields in which emotional and existential tensions are deposited layer by layer. The focus of her work is on the superimposition of experiences, hidden traces of memory and silence that penetrate through expressive brushstrokes. For the artist, art is not a mere representation, but a process of discovering the inexpressible in the field of image, feeling and soul and allowing it to be discovered in her current exhibition: Under the Skin of Space
