Song and cabaret history - 50 years of the legendary LP "Mut Tatendrang Schönheit" (1976)
Macabre, tactless, but clean - that's what MTS has stood for over five decades. There are two reasons to celebrate in 2026: 50 years of the legendary LP "Mut Tatendrang Schönheit", which was recorded in 1976 in the Weimar student club "Kasseturm", and the 75th birthday of founder, singer and lyricist Thomas Schmitt.
Together with his long-time musical companion Frank Sültemeyer, Schmitt returns to the stage to celebrate this double anniversary with the audience. In addition to the songs from the anniversary record, further highlights from over 50 years of song cabaret will be performed - biting, enigmatic and musically precise.
Their songs move between chanson, folk and satirical pop with playful ease. What begins harmlessly often ends in a surprising punch line. An evening full of wordplay, contemporary references and handmade music - nostalgic and surprisingly contemporary at the same time
