Ulrike Sebert is an author for cultural radio stations and writes poetry and prose.
In the first part of the event "Klein Zicker - Unter dem Radar", she will read from her novel, which is based on research for her feature "Paradiesische Ruhe, trügerische Idylle", and then present the radio feature by Deutschlandfunk Kultur.
Klein Zicker is idyllically situated at the south-eastern end of Rügen - a small village between the sea and salt marshes, with around 60 inhabitants, vacation apartments, a fisherman, restaurants and a surfing beach. But between 1967 and 1991, a Soviet radar station was located here, shielded behind barbed wire. Today, only a plaque reminds us of this time - the landscape has been renaturalized, but the history remains alive in people's memories.
