"What made people tick in the past? How did they live? What has become of them? And how were they able to be who they once were?" I am less interested in the great politicians and military leaders, no, I want to know how the individual little people lived who made their lives and their wars possible in the first place.
Doreen Mechsner interviewed twelve randomly selected almost centenarians about their lives, their experiences and their insights. Their interview transcripts reflect one hundred years of everyday German history.
