Listening to music in the Klanghaus gallery with Klaus Holsten
All lovers of classical music who enjoy listening to selected masterpieces of music history in a group and with a gentle introduction are invited to this evening event.
We can be touched intuitively and emotionally by many works of classical music without any prior training. With an introduction to the characteristic details and the cultural-historical background of the music, however, expanded and enriching aspects of perception can open up, so that deeper understanding and ultimately even greater enjoyment of the music can arise from intuitive enjoyment.
This evening is dedicated to a special work by the Romantic composer Johannes Brahms, the Clarinet Quintet in B minor op. 115.
It is a late work that Brahms composed for a close friend, the clarinettist Richard Mühlfeld. In quiet and dramatic phases, it tells of melancholy and longing, but also of youthful exuberance and joie de vivre.
