On October 31, Reformation Day, we are celebrating a very special anniversary: the Barth Bible Center is 25 years old. For a quarter of a century, the center has been a place of encounter, wonder and inspiration. We cordially invite you to celebrate this "moment of light" with us - a day full of festivity, fellowship and fascinating insights into our cultural heritage.
The Barth Bible Center is much more than a museum - it is the memory of a region. Barth's importance as a "Bible and book printing town" is deeply rooted in history: the distribution of the Bible in Pomerania began here. With the famous Barth Bible of 1588, a milestone in the art of printing and the communication of faith was set here.
Today we are continuing this tradition. The "abstract" book comes to life in our experience museum. In the historic Jürgen Chapel - a place that itself has had an eventful history from a medieval hospital to today's cultural monument - we bridge the gap between antiquity and modernity.
Between scriptorium and multimedia: The magic of discovery
Visitors to the Bible Center can "jump over their shadows" and get active. In our Scriptorium, you can wield a pen like the monks of old, experience the revolution of book printing at first hand on the historic book press and in the typesetting room, craftsmanship becomes an experience.
Whether you approach biblical texts in Low German or rediscover the Ten Commandments in our modern multimedia exhibition - we are all about the "worthy of belief" and the "worthy of questioning". We are celebrating 25 years of focusing on people and their stories.

We are celebrating the anniversary with a program that spans the spectrum from solemn tradition to modern staging:
11:00 a.m. | Festive service in St. Mary's Church The event will kick off with a solemn service in the impressive setting of St. Mary's Church. The celebration will be musically enhanced by the regional trombone director Martin Huss - a powerful start to our anniversary day.
From 3:00 p.m. | Colorful hustle and bustle in the Bible Center Afterwards, we will open the doors of the Jürgenkapelle for a cozy and active get-together. Enjoy coffee and home-baked cake and be inspired by various hands-on activities. Whether big or small - the Bible becomes tangible here.
18:30 | The big light show in the Bible Center The crowning finale: As dusk falls, we transform the Bible Center into a stage of light and sound. A spectacular light show with accompanying music puts the architecture and the message of our building in a completely new light. A magical moment that you should not miss!
