Nighttime at the Müritzeum: An Experience for Night Owls, Families, and All Nature Lovers
When you look closely, rocks aren’t just gray or brown—they can glow and sparkle. It all depends on the light and the angle. But why is that? And which rocks just stay gray? Why is it easier to find amber with a UV light—at night, of course? Bastian Bruckhoff will answer these questions for participants during his guided tour through the House of Collections at the Müritzeum. For this tour, he’ll also bring out additional rocks from the geological collection that are usually kept out of sight.
But the darkness holds many other glowing secrets. These fascinating natural phenomena come not only from rocks but also from nocturnal creatures, such as the well-known fireflies or the deep-sea anglerfish. They all bring light into the darkness. But why do some creatures glow, and how is that even possible? This mysterious nocturnal activity of living creatures will also be explored and examined together during the “Night at the Müritzeum” event.
Anyone who wants to join the evening discovery tour in the dark should register in advance at the Müritzeum by the day before by calling 03991 633 680. This event is aimed at night owls, families, and all nature enthusiasts.
