The Stralsund City Library invites you to the first "BookTok" meeting on March 26, 2026. The event is aimed at anyone who would like to share their BookTok enthusiasm with others and discuss current titles, trends and tropes.
"Let's talk #BookTok" is the launch of a new BookTok book club for young readers who appreciate plot twists, get emotionally involved in slow burn novels and whose SUB (pile of unread books) is constantly growing.
The focus will be on sharing recommendations, reading experiences and characters that will stay with you for a long time.
Program points of the evening include
- Exchange about BookTok reading recommendations
- Discussions about surprising twists ("plot twists"), genres ("tropes") and morally questionable characters
- Encounters with like-minded people who share intense reading experiences
- Room to rave
- Afterwards: silent reading
Regardless of whether you prefer Romance, Fantasy, Dark Romance, Contemporary or Academia: At the first meeting, the focus is on getting to know each other, exchanging ideas and reading together. Participants are invited to bring their favorite books or their current BookTok reading. Alternatively, a selection from the popular BookTok shelf is available in the city library, from which books can be selected on site.
All reading enthusiasts are welcome, regardless of their individual reading levels. The event is expressly intended as a print-free space without literary analysis - the focus is on emotions, conversations and books that have a lasting impact.
After the communal exchange, there will be a silent reading session. In a quiet, cozy atmosphere, participants can continue reading - books they have brought with them or titles from the BookTok shelf of the city library - and round off the evening.
