Events that have occupied the regions
Wreck researcher Dr. Detlev Mohr has been studying shipwrecks and wrecks off the coast of Fischland, Darß and Zingst for 50 years. There are many of them and the stories behind them are often dramatic. The lecture will focus in particular on the events during the great storm surge of 1872. The hurricane on November 12/13, 1872 alone, which triggered a tremendous storm surge, caused 654 ships to wreck in the Baltic and North Sea.
