NGM invites you to a lecture at the Natureum Ludwigslust on Tuesday, 20.01.2026 at 7:00 pm
In his travel talk, photographer and author Jonas Heimbach talks about his almost three-month backpacking trip through Nepal in spring 2020. Shortly after graduating from high school, he set off on this adventure at the tender age of 19 to pursue his great passion, nature photography.
Without much previous experience, he had to find his way around a completely foreign culture and had numerous encounters with rare animals, beautiful landscapes and kind-hearted people over the course of his trip. The journey took him to the Barida National Park, a remote protected area with the highest tiger population in the country, the Annapurna Circuit, a long-distance hiking trail through one of the most beautiful regions of the Himalayas and culturally exceptional cities such as Kathmandu and Butwal.
Listen to stories about tigers, river dolphins and the eight-thousanders of the Himalayas, accompanied by numerous photos, videos and illustrations and let yourself be taken on a journey to the highest country on earth, which for Jonas became the template for his first book and the adventure of his life!
All interested parties are cordially invited to the Natureum at Ludwigslust Castle on Tuesday, 20.01.2026 at 19:00. The contribution towards expenses is €3 for NGM members and €4 for guests. The number of participants is limited to 50.
