Lecture: "Bathing in Zinnowitz and on Usedom - from the beginnings to the present day"
The sand from the ice age now provides a livelihood for many people. The poor area on the Baltic coast could only feed a few people, mainly from fishing.
Tourism began to develop around 1850. Shipping across the Swine and the emerging railroad brought guests quickly and easily to the island resorts. Beach chairs, piers and the development of hotels and restaurants change the towns and people on the Island of Usedom.
