"Wearing the crown gave her no pleasure" - A look at the life and work of Grand Duchess Auguste of Mecklenburg (1822 - 1862). A lecture by Doris Norek.
On May 12, International Care Day, Doris Norek (certified tour guide for the city of Schwerin) will give a lecture on Grand Duchess Auguste.
Auguste von Mecklenburg is the founder of the Augustenstift and shaped Schwerin through her extraordinary actions. She devoted herself to the social needs of the city, cared for the poor and sick, supported those in need and worked tirelessly to alleviate human suffering.
The Augustenstift zu Schwerin has been a place of care since 1855. The Day of Care is a wonderful occasion to honor not only this great woman, but also all people who work in care.
The event will take place in the church hall of the Augustenstift.
