Chiaroscuro - Virtuoso fingerstyle technique, inspirations from different parts of the world and jazz.
The worldwide success of well-known grand masters of the acoustic guitar, above all Tommy Emmanuel, proves that the unamplified guitar can also inspire many fans of folk and pop, flamenco and neo-classical music. Ladislav Pazdera (*1989) has also dedicated himself entirely to the acoustic guitar and belongs to the generation of musicians who grew up without genre boundaries. Accordingly, on his upcoming solo album Chiaroscuro, as with previous projects, he processes stylistically diverse inspirations into very personal, touching and expressive pieces. There is a great variety of timbres and moods, an impressive range between finely chiseled passages and dynamic rhythmic temperament.
Since moving to Dresden in 2014, Ladislav Pazdera has gained a considerable reputation beyond Germany's borders. Especially as he uses a guitar with a fretless neck like few others, which allows quarter tones, similar to the oriental lute oud. Top-class engagements, for example with the symphony orchestra of the Dresden State Operetta, are proof of Ladislav's class, as is the resonance in the relevant media:
"The sound and the overall aesthetics of the music program are at the highest level!" (Acoustic Guitar)
"Casual, sophisticated, groovy."(WDR3 Jazz)
"Beautiful sound and wonderful technique that works perfectly across styles." (Swiss Radio and Television)
"An exhibition of amazing sound paintings." (Jazzquad)
"With the right balance, Pazdera always manages to captivate the listener." (NRW Jazz)
Ladislav Pazdera's creative drive is reflected in his diverse repertoire and in his own compositions, which underline his qualities as a musical storyteller. On his solo album Chiaroscuro and in his current concerts, Ladislav combines virtuoso fingerstyle technique, inspirations from different parts of the world and jazz in his multi-faceted playing. Traditional influences from Andalusia and Eastern European to Arabic regions shine through, and sometimes the lightness of Brazilian music shines through. Wherever Pazdera travels, his lively music always reflects the filigree precision and nuance familiar from classical music.
"One of the finest young European guitarists." - Don Ross (multi-award-winning Canadian fingerstyle virtuoso.)
