Kooiker dog lovers meet again for the annual camp at the C15 campsite in the Boeker Mühle district.
4th Kooikerhondje meeting at the Müritz
For the fourth time in a row, owners of dogs of the Dutch Kooikerhondje breed are meeting for their KooikerCamp at the Müritz. It will take place from 19 to 21.09.25 at the C15 "Bolter Ufer" campsite, which is located in the Boeker Mühle district of the resort town of Rechlin directly on the Müritz. More than 90 participants have already confirmed their attendance and will be traveling with 70 dogs from all over Germany for the weekend. The meeting is organized by the German Club for Kooikerhondje e.V. (www.kooikerhondje-dck.de).
To kick things off, dog owners will have the opportunity to try out a SUP board with their dogs at the catamaran and surf mill, which is located in the area of the campsite, from 13:00 on 19.09.25. A visit to the Müritz fishermen from "Fischers Land Boek" at the Bolter lock is planned from 4 p.m., where participants can enjoy the delicacies of the local lakes.
On Saturday, 20.09.25, the participants will meet at 10.45 a.m. for the big Kooiker walk, which is a traditional part of every meeting. It starts at the reception of the C15 campsite and leads through the wooded surroundings. The walk ends with a visit to the Kutscher-Café in Boek, where a delicious kettle goulash is prepared for the participants.
During the camp there will be a small obstacle course on the campsite where the dogs will prove their skills.
Anyone who would like to experience this rare but very interesting dog breed up close is very welcome on these days. Here you can get first-hand information from dog owners, breeders and other experts about the nature and requirements of these medium-sized dogs and come into direct contact with one or two representatives of this breed. Kooikerhondje are lively, happy dogs and are described as friendly, good-natured, sensitive and intelligent. They grow to a height of approx. 40 cm and weigh between 9 and 14 kg.
