Laura Folkers Live in Wismar on 28.02.2026 at 8 pm at Das Kittchen
Singer-songwriter Laura Folkers blends pop, jazz and folk elements with expressive harmonies and rhythms. Her heartfelt and lively songs tell of very personal experiences, thoughts, observations and "everything that wants to be expressed through music". You can hear the joy, warmth and curiosity of experimentation, but also a tendency towards the mystical and melancholy.
She performs solo, but also as a duo with percussionist Anton Thelemann or in a four-piece band. A typical feature is performing with her nylon acoustic guitar, which is the source of most of her musical ideas.
At the beginning of 2024, Laura Folkers completed her studies in pop and world music with classical music (vocal major) at the Rostock University of Music and Drama.
In November 2023, she and her band won first place at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Rock Festival. In September 2024, she took part as a national finalist in the Local Heroes newcomer award and won in the "Best Songwriting 2024" category.
In spring 2025, Laura will present her first album "Once" live at Ursprung Rostock. She herself says about her songs: "Music and songwriting have always been great ways for me to express myself, process emotions or communicate."
