Book Launch & Discussion | Moderator: Everest Girard (LiteraturRat M-V)
Violence by teachers is a taboo subject. Yet it happens and takes many forms. Katharina Elsner, a journalist living in Rostock who is a trained teacher herself, has explored this issue and the perspectives of those affected in radio features—including not only students and parents but also teachers who become witnesses and whose voices go unheard. In her book, Elsner explains why the issue often remains hidden and encourages readers to break the silence. She shows how schools can create a safe environment, how teachers and parents can recognize signs of violence, and what concrete steps can help. After all, no one should experience violence at the hands of teachers—and no one should have to stand by and watch it happen.
