The artist's youthful years in Bad Doberan
A lecture by Marion Schael, Kate Diehn-Bitt Foundation and Dr. Anselm Pell, archivist of the Rostock district.
Kate Diehn-Bitt (1900-1978) is an exceptional artist in the North German art scene. As a representative of the New Objectivity movement, her work gained increasing international recognition - as impressively demonstrated by exhibitions in Paris, Copenhagen, Vienna, Bonn and Mannheim.
Her life and her extensive oeuvre impressively reflect the historical upheavals of the 20th century.
The lecture by the two speakers will shed light on Kate's youthful years in Bad Doberan, focus on the Haliflor family business and outline the important connection to the Sieger family.
The event is being organized in cooperation with the Kate Diehn-Bitt Foundation and the Literaturverein Ehm Welk-Haus e.V.
