"Tatort Hafen – The Last Ferry to Dockland"
Volume 3 of the Hamburg crime series
High-tension suspense with a regional flair and true-crime elements.
“Tatort Hafen – The Last Ferry to Dockland” is the third volume in the Hamburg crime series featuring the Water Police: high-octane suspense with a regional flair and true-crime elements.
Late in the evening, Melanie Cullmann takes the last ferry to Dockland and asks her husband Fred to pick her up at the pier. She has a bad feeling—and rightly so, as it turns out: Melanie never arrives; the police can only recover her body from the harbor waters.
Jonna Jacobi takes over the investigation, but soon realizes that no one on board the ferry saw anything. Meanwhile, Fred Cullmann seems to be hiding something; he vehemently refuses any assistance from Charlotte Severin of Victim Protection Services. It is only from Melanie’s colleagues at the Eurocon Container Terminal—the beating heart of the Port of Hamburg—that Jonna learns some explosive details: Apparently, Melanie possessed information that criminal organizations would pay any price to obtain. Was she the perpetrator, an accomplice—or had she gotten too close to someone? Water police officer Tom Bendixen decides to send his best officer undercover to the terminal. As the investigation stalls, it becomes clear that the deceased woman’s husband is by no means as harmless as he appears. Driven by his loss, he swears revenge. A race against time begins, in which Tom and Jonna must find the culprit before the desperate widower takes the law into his own hands. But neither Tom nor Jonna can guess who they’re really dealing with…
