Johnny Cash Experience / The Cash Experience —that’s five musicians from the Lower Rhine and western Münsterland who are reaching the pinnacle of their musical careers with this band. They’ve dedicated themselves to the sound of American country legend Johnny Cash.
The name says it all. They thrill audiences with an authentic sound and pay a dignified tribute to the legendary “Man in Black.”
Marco (LOTTE) Lodemann on drums and (BIG MARK) Markus Dünkelmann on bass lay the foundation for the “Boom Chicka Boom” sound of the early Sun Records era. Olaf (MR. ST. BLUES) Hermann adds the finishing touches with his guitars. Mark (MARK B.) Bußkönning complements the overall sound with pedal steel guitar and piano. Frontman Joe Sander soars above the stirring performance with his deep bass-baritone voice, which comes very close to the original’s vocal style. The audience is taken on a journey through time, exploring the artistic legacy of music legend J. R. Cash.
With great passion and enthusiasm, the band performs a wide variety of songs by the grand master of country music: from the early Sun Records era all the way to the American Recordings, Johnny Cash’s highly successful later work and comeback.
Their repertoire therefore includes many songs that extend far beyond the boundaries of country music, without ever calling Cash’s roots into question.
All band members believe that those contemporaries who, either due to their age or because their musical tastes were not yet fully developed at the time, were not fortunate enough to see Johnny Cash perform live should have the opportunity to experience this magnificent music.
Endorsements from well-known instrument manufacturers, enthusiastic concertgoers, and—last but not least—the release of a total of five CD albums have paved the band’s musical path. After countless performances both at home and abroad, the band looks forward to taking on new challenges.
