Johannes Kirchberg: Words, nothing but words
A musical-literary program
Language through the ages, looked up by Goethe, Heine, Busch and others.
Language changes - like everything else in the world. This is no secret and certainly nothing new. All of us who use language on a daily basis contribute to this. Language change over the centuries reflects changes in society, culture and technology.
And since life is subject to constant change, we are literally trying to keep up with the language.
In all this confusion, people have nevertheless been saying "I love you" for centuries. But how do they say it? Freely or through the flower? For Johannes Kirchberg, the time has come to talk about love. What are the right words? Where can they be found? Isn't "I love you" a bit too worn out for what he feels? Do these words really convey everything he has to say? Shouldn't he perhaps write his own song - or have it written? Or seek refuge with eloquent predecessors, with famous authors? What words did they find in this extraordinary situation?
A journey through time through confessions of love from several centuries begins. In an entertaining and informative program, Johannes Kirchberg uses texts and songs to show how differently authors have expressed their declarations of love to men and women over the centuries.
