The Jewish Cemetery in Teterow—A Place of Remembrance
The Jewish cemetery in Teterow was established in 1762 and has been a designated historic site since 1987. For an entire weekend in early September, interested visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Jewish history of this town in the Bergring region. The Max Samuel House in Rostock, which is dedicated to educating the public about Jewish history and culture, invites you to participate in a volunteer work project at the Jewish cemetery in Teterow, as well as to join a guided tour and a workshop on preventing anti-Semitism.
Program:
- Friday, September 4, starting at 10 a.m.: Volunteer work at the Jewish cemetery
- Saturday, September 5, at 10 a.m.: Guided tour on Jewish history in Teterow with Meike Jezmann (Director of the Teterow City Museum)—limited number of participants; in the afternoon, there will be a workshop on preventing anti-Semitism
- Sunday, September 6, starting at 10 a.m.: Volunteer work at the Jewish cemetery
