Heavy rain outside the window; the whole world is black and white. Two children sit in their room, at a loss, but then they open up other, fantastical windows! “Imagine…” is the magic phrase with which they transform the world and themselves. Jens Rassmus swaps ink for acrylic paints and creates vast, luminous spaces for the children’s imaginations.
Tiny as Tom Thumb, they climb through the undergrowth of a fairy-tale forest and fly into the sky on the back of a beetle, only to stride across fields and cities as giants moments later, with tiny cars on tiny roads far below them. In the blink of an eye, Rassmus turns a bucket into a deep well and places a ball of pure gold at its bottom.
