Concert featuring the "JAZZATAX" choir from the Ataraxia School of the Arts at the Kirch Stück Church
On Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., the Friends of the Church in Kirch Stück e.V. will host a concert featuring the “JAZZATAX” choir from the ATARAXIA School of the Arts, conducted by Michaela Geisler.
As a jazz choir, “JAZZATAX” has been singing and swinging in Schwerin and the surrounding area since 1992. Of course, “JAZZATAX” isn’t trying to launch an attack on jazz itself, but rather to use jazz to blow and sing their way through the monotony of radio. But the program isn’t limited to jazz standards: it incorporates musical influences from blues, gospel, country, and rock, as well as from Latin America and Africa. The singers also don’t shy away from interesting pop interludes.
Everyone is warmly invited! Admission is free; at the end of the event, we’ll be collecting donations to cover the costs of the event and to fund construction projects in and around St. Georg Church in Kirch Stück.
