But it also alienates me with sprawling landscapes and ugly cities that always look the same. And it frightens me with unpredictable forces of nature, overcrowded subways, poisonous fish and complicated toilets.
Japan is a society that functions according to completely different rules than ours. I have approached the secrets of Japan on several trips.
