Jan Simowitsch reads from his brand new book "Und der Wal spuckt mich aus". It will be funny and entertaining, sometimes profound and also touching, because Jan plays suitable and self-composed music on the piano between the individual chapters. He is simply a double-dude: he likes lyrics and music. When he quit his job, he also gave up all security, left for the Faroe Islands and was the first tourist of the year in April. "How did I get into this again?" he thinks to himself. And that's what Jonah must have asked himself when he was swallowed up by the whale.

Jan Simowitsch, born in 1980, took up a position as a church musician specializing in popular music in Bad Segeberg after studying piano at the Rostock University of Music and Drama. From 2016 to 2024, he helped shape the musical and liturgical development of the Protestant Church as head of the Pop Institute of the Northern Church. In addition to his full-time work, Jan Simowitsch spends a lot of time with words and music. He regularly writes about everything that moves him on his Instagram channel. At his concerts, he plays his own compositions on the piano and reads texts. He also gets involved in current debates and is politically committed to human rights and discourse between people.
