Island Concert — 15th International Youth Chamber Choir Festival on Usedom
International Youth Chamber Choir Gathering Usedom 2026
August 14–23, 2026 | Island of Usedom
August promises to be a musical month: European youth choirs will gather in mid-August 2026 for the 15th International Youth Chamber Choir Encounter on the Baltic Sea island of Usedom. For ten days, the singers will rehearse together and give numerous concerts in the island’s churches. During the International Youth Chamber Choir Encounter organized by the Working Group on Music in Youth (AMJ), they will also have the opportunity to get to know one another, spend time together on the beach, and make friends.
Between August 14 and 23, concerts will take place in venues including Usedom’s island churches and the Trassenheide Concert Shell. A special highlight is the closing concert on August 22 at St. Petri Church in Wolgast, where the choirs will present the results of their collaborative work as well as music from their home countries. Starting on August 16, the ensembles will also provide musical accompaniment for various church services on Usedom.
During the festival, the young people will rehearse in various workshops and learn new choral repertoire. This year, the workshops will be led by internationally renowned choir directors Basilio Astulez (Spain), Basak Dogan (Turkey), and Agnes Schnabl (Austria). Audiences are warmly welcome everywhere.
Admission to all concerts is free.
The Usedom International Youth Chamber Choir Festival is organized every two years by the Arbeitskreis Musik in der Jugend (AMJ).
