Is there any good news? A presentation by architect Burkhardt Eriksson on the status of the renovation of St. Nikolai's tower
In September of last year, the extensive renovation of the South Tower began. Burkhardt Eriksson, the Stralsund-based architect in charge of the project, reports on the sometimes surprising discoveries that the construction workers were able to make while standing right next to the masonry, as well as on the causes of the damage. He also outlines the necessary measures that have been implemented to permanently secure the exterior of the South Tower. This major project is attracting significant attention both statewide and nationwide and is receiving substantial support from the St. Nikolai Friends Association.
