Irish Scottish Wiehnacht - Bad Penny
Irish Scottish Wiehnacht - Bad Penny
"Irish Scottish Wiehnacht" - Two hours of rousing Irish and Scottish folk rock
When North German souls meet Celtic tradition, something magical is created. Inspired by countless tours through Ireland and Great Britain and a deep immersion in centuries-old traditions, Bad Penny brings the great hymns of the Emerald Isle and the Highlands to the stage - with raw soul and honest passion.
"Whiskey in the Jar", "Loch Lomond" and many other classics are known worldwide and inextricably linked to the Christmas season. In this unique show, Celtic sounds merge with North German sailor's yarns - a musical bridge between rough seas and mystical Highlands.
The musicians of Bad Penny are true Northmen - they grew up in old captain's families where Low German was still spoken and the sea was always part of life. Also on board: violinist Olivia from New York City, whose virtuoso playing brings a unique timbre to the band's sound. The show is complemented by impressive videos that take the audience on a visual journey and perfectly round off the live performance.
This extraordinary connection is reflected in their music: powerful, earthy and deeply rooted in tradition - a bridge between the rough North German seafaring soul and Celtic mysticism, infused with urban virtuosity.
Bad Penny's folk rock lives from classic rock instruments such as drums, bass, keyboard and guitar, interspersed with the rousing sounds of the accordion and the unmistakable voice of Ola Van Sanders.
Experience an evening full of passion, longing and Celtic mysticism - "Irish Scottish Wiehnacht" is more than just a concert. It is an attitude to life.
Let yourself drift - and immerse yourself in the world of Irish and Scottish folk rock!
