In this introduction, you will learn the basics of FreeCAD - a free, freely available 3D CAD software for design, modeling and technical drawings. Step by step, we will show you how to create your own box and prepare it for further applications (e.g. 3D printing).
#### Contents of the introduction:
* Overview: What is FreeCAD and what can I use it for?
* Understanding the user interface: Workspaces, views, navigation in 3D space
* Working in the Part/Part Design Workbench: Creating and modifying solid bodies
* Save and export files (e.g. STL for 3D printing) and use them further
#### Previous knowledge:
No previous CAD knowledge is required. Basic computer skills are sufficient. The introduction is aimed at beginners who are looking for an easy and practical introduction to 3D design. If you would like to take part live, please bring your laptop with FreeCAD pre-installed (www.freecad.org).
#### Goal:
At the end of the introduction, you will have created your first 3D model in FreeCAD and understand the most important tools and work steps so that you can continue practicing independently.
