Colourful program at the Rostock Maritime Museum in the IGA Park on International Museum Day on 17 May 2026
On 17 May from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the crew of the Rostock Maritime Museum invites you to a colourful program for the whole family on the traditional ship on "International Museum Day", which this time has the motto "Museums uniting a divided world".
PROGRAMME:
11.00-11.30 a.m.: "Myths of the Sea" exhibition tour
11.00-14.00: "Coin minting workshop" in the special exhibition PIRATES
11.00-15.00: "Auxiliary diesel in action" in the engine room
11.00-15.00: Activities at the historic boatyard: making ropes on the Reeperbahn, forging
11.00-15.00: "Looking over the radio operator's shoulder" (bridge and radio room)
12.30-13.00: Guided tour "Everyday life on board"
13.00-15.00: Tour of the special exhibition TURNTON 2047 with stations "Conversations from the future" (role play light) in the
Medusabar and "Ministry for Possible Futures" (open thinking station)
13.00-13.30: "Myths of the sea" exhibition tour
14.00-14.30: On a discovery tour: "Treasures and where to find them"
14.30-15.00: Guided tour "Everyday life and living on board"
Also: maritime book table, rides with ship models in the miniport
Admission is free for children, adults pay 50% of the admission price.
