Free museum visit and hands-on workshop on soap making
May 17 is International Museum Day! And the Caspar David Friedrich Center is also opening its doors to all interested parties with free admission. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., everyone is welcome to explore the museum from top to bottom free of charge: from the permanent exhibition on the life and work of the famous Romantic artist to the current contemporary special exhibition "Streifzüge" (Forays) by Ines Spanier and Oliver Thie.
A special highlight awaits you at 2 p.m. in the historic cellar vault with our popular soap workshop. This is an opportunity for young and old to become active themselves. Learn interesting facts about the production of soaps then and now and create a unique foamy souvenir in the place where Caspar David Friedrich's father practiced this craft. Only material costs apply.
Duration: 120 minutes
Costs: Individual material costs (varies depending on weight and size per soap)
To take part in the workshop, please register at least two working days in advance. Registrations are possible from Tuesday to Saturday between 11.00 and 17.00 by telephone on: 03834/884568, in person at the museum store or by e-mail at: buchung@caspar-david.friedrich-gesellschaft.de.
