Grevesmühlen's Friese organ sounds again! Inauguration celebration with lots of music, food and drink on November 8, 2025!
On Saturday, November 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Friese organ in the St. Nikolai church will be played again for the first time since its restoration! Over the past 10 months, the listed instrument has been expertly restored by the Dresden organ builders Jehmlich, so that the 150-year-old organ can now shine again in its former glory and with a new sound.
The Evangelical Lutheran parish therefore invites you to the musical re-inauguration ceremony of the organ at 5.00 pm. The Ök. Kantorei under the direction of Cantor Michael Goede will perform works for choir and organ. Cantor Goede will present the Friese organ itself with old and new organ music.
"Jazzy Organ" is the name of the game afterwards, when a buffet and drinks will be served to the modern sounds of the organ. The musical finale will be a communal evening carol singing. Admission is free, the seats in the pews are heated!
You are cordially invited!
