A walking tour of the city's history with Wiebke Gensch
Walter Kempowski, born in Rostock in 1929, is one of the most significant and prolific authors in contemporary German literature. With the novels of the *Deutsche Chronik* series and his monumental text collages in *Echolot*, he established himself as a bestselling author and chronicler and became one of the most successful writers of our time.
This walking tour through Walter Kempowski’s hometown is interwoven with many stories from his life and that of his family, leading up to the recognition of his literary work.
