Ice Bath Spectacle
Hippi-ya-yay and Flower Power Instead of the Winter Blues
Flowers Instead of the Winter Blues! This year’s big ice-swimming spectacle is all about “Flower Power,” and around 100 brave swimmers will plunge into the cold Baltic Sea together. Whether it’s bell-bottoms, floral shirts, or giant sunglasses—there are no limits to the imagination when it comes to costumes.
The Ice Bath Spectacle is an experience for spectators, too: Flower Power hits, modern party music, street performers, colorful photo ops, and a small fire show create a festival atmosphere right in the middle of winter. When the big bath countdown begins, it’s time to jump into the cold water together!
A special highlight is the costume contest: Awards will be given for the three most original individual costumes and, for the first time, the most creative group costume. Anyone who wants to participate is warmly invited to join in the icy fun—alone, with friends, family, or a club.
Heated changing rooms, free hot and cold drinks, and a small snack will be available for the ice bathers. Refreshments will also be provided on-site for spectators.
Here’s what ice bathers can expect at the event:
- It’s time to jump in at 2:30 p.m.
- a commemorative ice-swimming souvenir for all the brave souls to take home
- Ice bath participants can enjoy free non-alcoholic and alcoholic hot beverages (at the designated station while supplies last) and a light snack (provided by vendors at the event venue)
- Heated tents for ice bathers
- Participation is free
- Parking is available in the large beach parking lot (for a fee)
- A family-friendly atmosphere
- An attractive and lively program of events and cool photo spots
