The musical reading - contemporary witness Edith Erbrich, the ensemble OPUS 45, Roman Knižka and pupils from the 10th grade create an impressive evening about the Theresienstadt ghetto.
On Friday, June 5, 2026, the musical reading "Ich wand're durch Theresienstadt" will take place at the Richard-Wossidlo-Gymnasium Ribnitz-Damgarten. The evening event is open to the public and admission is free.
The focus is on an encounter with Edith Erbrich, one of the last contemporary witnesses. As a six-year-old, she survived the Theresienstadt ghetto together with her sister Hella and her father. Her story tells of persecution, separation and survival - and at the same time of one of the rare happy endings of that time.
In addition to Edith Erbrich, the evening will feature actor Roman Knižka, the OPUS 45 wind quintet and Kathrin Liebhäuser as dramaturge.
A special part of the performance is created together with pupils from the 10th grade of the Richard-Wossidlo-Gymnasium. Together with Roman Knižka, they will rehearse a spoken chorus from the opera "Brundibár", which was performed more than 50 times in the Theresienstadt ghetto.
