"How to build a castle from rubble" ...a moving, informative and entertaining program with Dörte Maack. The artist, who went blind due to an eye disease, will tell stories from her biographical book and create an encouraging evening.
"Dörte Maack leads the life of a dazzling circus performer - until the diagnosis of an incurable eye disease hits her like a blow. She makes two plans. A: Not to go blind. B: If she does, to take her own life. She clutches at every straw, but the blindness progresses.
When she reaches rock bottom, she feels some ground under her feet again. Plan C matures: she returns to the stage as a blind presenter and speaker and meets the man of her life with her last bit of sight, who will never get any older for her.
Dörte Maack describes the process of dramatic change, which she takes into her own hands with courage and confidence, in a moving and humorous way.
The book inspires people in difficult life crises to defy the obstacles and trust in life.
