Gerd and Thomas Natschinski have created an absolute father and son novelty. Rarely does something like this happen in the musical world. They worked together artistically for the first and only time in the film "Hot Summer", which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
The Natschinskis shared the work, but not a grand piano. Gerd composed on the first floor of the house in Wendenschloß and Thomas wrote in his realm under the roof.
Thomas composed an estimated 500 ballads, blues, rock songs and many film scores on this Bösendorfer. He made one thing come true and composed many extraordinary and great songs such as the most beautiful love song of the GDR "Berührung". Before his death, Gerd Natschinski told the artistic director of the "Heißer Sommer" musical, Thomas Bürkholz, that he wondered "Where does Thomas get these melodies from".
The journalist and DT 64 presenter Christine Dähn did a major interview with Gerd Natschinski in Block B of the radio program during his lifetime and later wrote the biography "Verdammt, wer hat das Klavier erfunden" about Thomas Natschinski. This new concert reading was created from the wealth of informative and musical memories of father and son Natschinski after the Potsdam Film Museum asked if there could be a concert reading to mark 50 years of "Heißer Sommer - der Kultfilm".
