When two pianists combine with rare intensity and subtle musicality to form an artistic unit, the result is a fragile yet powerful world of sound that only a piano duo for four hands can create.
The Japanese piano duo Crewir, consisting of Nao Kanemura and Yoshiaki Sato, has been dedicated to this special art form since 2019. With a subtle sense of phrasing, a luminous sound culture and virtuoso precision, the two pianists create grand romantic narrative arcs just as naturally as delicate fairytale worlds full of allusions and secrets.
Their careers are characterized by outstanding successes: 1st prizes in Krakow, Rome, Bucharest and Tokyo, as well as special prizes from renowned juries and institutions, testify to the exceptional quality of their playing. Since October 2024, they have been perfecting their training in the piano duo concert exam at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre with the internationally renowned piano duo pioneers Prof. Hans-Peter and Prof. Volker Stenzl.
As part of the hmt classical concerts, Kanemura and Sato present a program that transports the audience into a world of sound between romantic intimacy and fairy-tale fantasy - poetic, virtuosic and carried by deep artistic seriousness.
